Getting healthier

Leala (now known as BeeBee by her foster... not sure I'm loving that name!) has been gaining weight and getting healthier (see her most updated pics above!). She ended up with hookworm, whipworm and giardia and is being treated for those before she can undergo her heartworm treatment.

I've heard that some people would like to donate directly to the vet, which is wonderful! I can't thank those of you who have donated enough!!

The vet's info is:

Front Range Vet Clinic
Under the name of BeeBee (being fostered by Wil and under the account name of Julie Montemarano)
207 S Garland St
Lakewood, CO 80226-2832
(303) 233-6322
Leala needs medical attention!
This beautiful girl has been through so much and just needs medical attention so she can finally find a forever home!

Leala came from GA with a litter of 4 month old puppies (7 of them). A local rescue was going to help with them and said they would take the mama and pups and for me to go ahead and bring them to CO. Once they all arrived, this rescue bailed on me. I am a private person who does what I can to help, and this was a lot for me to handle in their condition.

I was told they were all in great health, but upon arrival it was discovered they were not. Another rescue is now caring for the puppies, who had lots of health problems. One puppy has even had a blood transfusion. I am so grateful to them for helping me, but I am still trying to get care for gorgeous Leala. I named her Leala because it means "friendship" in Italian and she is such a lover and people pleaser. She is just amazing. She has heartworm and some other issues.

I have spent 2 days calling around and researching and have found that her best option for treatment is going to run around $650 and take about 10 weeks. She is currently with a foster who can keep her quite and crated for 4 weeks after her first treatment. I was quoted less in some cases, but was leery of what I was hearing and the care she would get and I want the best for her. My hubby is not happy and wants me to stop rescuing dogs due to this financial constraint, so I'd love to raise enough to take a good chunk of the burden off of us to keep him happy and keep me being able to rescue dogs! I just need to raise enough to get her started on treatment ASAP!

Thank you in advance! If you are able to donate in any way, I am always happy to keep you posted on her status!
